Revlon is an American multinational cosmetics company that specializes in beauty and personal care products. The company was founded in 1932 by Charles Revson, his brother Joseph Revson, and chemist Charles Lachman. The name "Revlon" is a combination of the Revson brothers' last name and the word "lanolin," which was a key ingredient in their early nail polishes.

They initially gained recognition for its nail enamel, featuring a unique opaque formula that provided superior coverage. Over the years, the company expanded its product line to include various cosmetics, skincare products, fragrances, and hair care items. Some of Revlon's popular brands include Revlon ColorStay, Super Lustrous, PhotoReady, and Charlie.

Company has maintained a strong presence in the beauty industry and has been associated with numerous celebrity endorsements and iconic advertising campaigns. The company has also acquired other beauty brands, such as Elizabeth Arden and Almay, to further diversify its product offerings.

In recent years, Revlon has faced challenges in a highly competitive cosmetics market. The company has undergone changes in ownership and leadership, including the involvement of investment firm MacAndrews & Forbes. As of our knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Revlon's CEO was Debra Perelman, who took over from her father, Ronald Perelman, in 2018.
